VR Coaching Meetup

This is a meetup is for people who are interested in the use of Virtual Reality for coaching processes and therapy.  

Here you can learn and experience what VR can do to you. How it can influence your thoughts and behaviour. 
We have some interesting speakers and fun and cool demo’s for you to experience.

18:30 Walk in

19:00 – 20:00 Talks: people sharing knowledge

20:00 – 21:00 Various VR demo’s on Oculus Rift, Gear VR and Cardboard

21:00 – 22:00 Time for makers and users to meet and discuss future possibilities about therapy and coaching

> Talks

Stichting Valk helps customers of KLM with their fear of flying. Fear of flying is very common. One third of the grown ups has fear of flying. In this talk Kelly Pex tells us about the way Stichting Valk uses flight simulation and related therapy.

Pascal Serrarens (PasserVR) develops interactive avatars. With todays VR technology the VR world looks so realistic that people accept it for real. Pascal talks about the psychological aspects of Virtual Reality.

Joost Bosschert ( VRBeelding) and Dana-Maria created an app for people with fear of public speaking. They will show the ‘making of’ and talk about the learnings so far.

Maarten Laken Beyond Care (Triple IT) aims to implement VR in both somatic and mental healthcare. They are creating an app for the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Maarten will explain the concept and how they expect to improve the current treatments available.

Fear of public speaking

Joost and Dana-Maria created an app for people with fear of public speaking. They will present it and you can experience a demo.

Behaviour of people <-> avatars

Pascal is experimenting with the virtual world to make avatars as real as possible. This by studying body language: the way people breath, move, et cetera. Pascal studies the behaviour of people, as well as body movements.


Sport (softball) coach

Joost created a softball app used for training purposes.

Miscellaneous

There is going to be various demo’s, e.g. Arachnophobia (fear of spiders), fear of public speaking, Agyrophobia (streets fear), fear of riding buses.
