Wednesday March 15, the VR film makers that want to participate in this challenge can meet each other in Nijmegen. Professional or amateur, with or without a team, it doesn’t matter. You can look for a team to join or try to find extra team members here. The 48 Hour Project will take place March 31 to April 2. The screening and Award ceremony will take place as part of the Goshort Filmfestival, April 4-9.

The 48 Hour Film Project is really quite simple. It is a test of you and your team’s ability to work together and make a movie in only 48 hours. The sense of accomplishment is tremendous – and you will celebrate by watching your film on the big screen and in this case also in 360 degree and with spatial sound with a HMD. You can find more info about the VR-edition of 48 hour on https://48hour.360-film.org about this 360 film hackathon weekend.

VRNL has also teamed up with Acadamy Awards / Oscar©  qualifying Filmfestival Raindance, to create an international follow up for the best 360 VR films “made in Holland”.

UITSPRAAK OVER VR

"To begin with, Virtual Reality is a part of computer science and it represents a new approach to computer science. Instead of treating the computer as a box that's out there that is supposed to accomplish something, you put a human being in the center and say, "Let's look at the human being closely. Let's see how people perceive the world or how they act. Let's design a computer to fit very closely around them, like a glove, you might say. Let's match up the technology to exactly what people are good at.""
