Cologne VR Meetup #7 feat. Dev Exchange

Datum: 5 april 2015 Geschreven door: admin vr.nl In:

Hey everyone,

it’s about time for our next VR Meetup!

We will meet again on Saturday, May 2nd at 6 pm. The event is as usual open for everyone interested in VR. Additionally to the usual Meetup we want to invite you to our 4th VR Developer Exchange, which will start at 3 pm at the same venue (http://www.meetup.com/Cologne-Virtual-Reality-Meetup/events/221638084/). The VR Developer Exchange is directed at (also soon-to-be) VR developers and VR professionals among yourselves. Here you will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, demo your projects etc. before the actual Meetup begins.

We are always looking for interesting speakers that want to present their projects and insights related to VR. Please contact us!

After the official part we will again have a long demo-session with socializing, networking, snacks and Kölsch!

The location is Startplatz, Im Mediapark 5, Cologne. The participation of the event is for free but we kindly suggest to make a small donation on site to help us cover the expenses.

It would be great if everyone who owns an HMD and/or other VR equipment would bring it to the event for the demo session. In this case suggest arriving at 5 pm or earlier so you can prepare everything before the official part begins.

Please beware that the official part of the Meetup from 6 to 8 pm will be held in English or German, depending on the speaker’s ability.

The schedule of the evening will be as follows:

3 pm  The developer exchange begins

5 pm  Setup of hardware

6 pm  Meetup kick-off and speeches (speakers will be announced seperately)

8-12 pm  Demo and networking session

UITSPRAAK OVER VR

"To begin with, Virtual Reality is a part of computer science and it represents a new approach to computer science. Instead of treating the computer as a box that's out there that is supposed to accomplish something, you put a human being in the center and say, "Let's look at the human being closely. Let's see how people perceive the world or how they act. Let's design a computer to fit very closely around them, like a glove, you might say. Let's match up the technology to exactly what people are good at.""
